タイトル: 火星の火山活動を火星内部の進化として捉える
要旨: There exist many similarities and dissimilarities between Mars and Earth. One of the most distinguished dissimilarities is existence/absence of plate tectonics. This has caused contrasting difference in the style of volcanism between two planets. After detailed review on the martian volcanism I would like to discuss recent peculiar style of volcanism on Mars. I would like to conduct the seminar in an interactive style with audience. The questions in relation to this subject I would like to pose during the seminar would be;
1) Why the martian mantle seems to be hotter than that of the Earth?
2) What is the role of the lower mantle in thermal evolution?
3) What is co-evolution of core and mantle?, Can we constrain initial thermal state by cessation of dynamo in Mars?
Any kind of suggestions and comments are welcome and the contribution from the audience would be a key.
