アブストラクト	Many aspects of the earth's lower atmosphere are characterized by an abundance of water vapor, but in the upper atmosphere, above the tropopause, it is very arid because of dehydration around the very cold region of the tropical tropopause. In this talk the research history about dryness in the stratosphere will be presented from observational and modeling perspectives.
