Abstract |
Calcium carbonate, CaCO3, crystals are mineral crystals existing in nature abundantly and, therefore, have been studied in a variety of research fields from long ago. Especially, mechanisms of precise molecular controls of CaCO3 crystal polymorphs and morphologies have received much attention in connection with the development of novel structural or functional crystal materials. At the presentation, I will talk about our recent molecular dynamics simulation studies on the control of nucleation and growth of a CaCO3 crystal by impurities. |
