Title: "Changing environments on early Mars"
Abstract: Understanding of environmental changes and habitability on early Mars is the major goals of recent Mars rover missions (Curiosity, ExoMars, and Perseverance) and important topics in researches of planetary climate, geochemistry, and astrobiology. Recent observations by orbiters and rovers and their interpretations by modeling and experiments suggested that Mars has experienced dramatic changes in aqueous environments (water chemistry, redox state in atmosphere, and climate) in the past. In this seminar, I will introduce my research group’s achievements to understand aqueous environments on early Mars and will discuss the causative mechanisms for the environmental changes and effects on the habitability.
Keywords: Mars, environmental change, habitability
