タイトル: Bulges in Lenticular Galaxies
要旨: Lenticular galaxies are a transition class between elliptical and spiral galaxies. They have a prominent bulge and a disk, but no discernible spiral arms. It is now believed that bulges in galaxies can be of two types: classical bulges which are formed through violent processes, or pseudobulges which are formed through secular processes, which involve a bar, which drive gas and stars from the disk towards the centre of a galaxy. Bulges and pseudobulges have subtly different properties, the study of which can lead to better understanding of the formation processes of the bulges. In my talk I will consider the two types of bulges in lenticular galaxies, some morphological and colour correlations followed by them and observational clues which can be obtained about their formation.
