An annular solar eclipse will be seen in Japan on 2012 May 21. The northern limit of the annular phase will be on the Japanese Islands. We organized "limit of the annular phase study group" which aims to determine the limit from observations of annular solar eclipse in 2012. The study group are planning as follows: (1) Limit determination with the solar eclipse glasses with which many people can participate (2) Determinations of the northern limit of the eclipse are valuable for estimating the solar radius. (3) Photography of multi-point solar eclipse pictures and production of educational pictures I am going to discuss these plans in this seminar. |
