For boundary layer turbulence, recent observational and experimental studies have revealed that, in the constant stress layer at neutral time, not only the vertical profile of the mean wind speed but also that of the variance of the wind speed fluctuations is logarithmic. I will review this logarithmic law and discuss its application to the boundary layer processes of numerical weather prediction, especially about the gray zone problem and the surface flux problem.
