| Abstract |
This is a curious combination, but in essence, the lecture will consist of two parts, introducing topics from the two fields in which the lecturer has been involved. The first half of the lecture will introduce the story of Jupiter's aurora in its early days, when its appearance was captured by ground-based infrared observations and ultraviolet observations with the Hubble Space Telescope, and its details were gradually revealed. The second half will discuss the recent Venus exploration and research that led to the European Venus Express and Japan's AKATSUKI, including their major results and the true face of Venus as seen through them, comparing them with those of the Earth and Mars. |
